This is an extremely unique website. It is much different than what I am used to seeing and what I would regard as “good. Just a little background: I want to put what iMedical Space Planning does into more layman’s terms so that it is easier for us non-interior-designers to understand. They are a Medical Office Floor Plan Design company that will help medical providers, doctors, dentists, hospitals, etc. plan their space without ever having to visit a single person. They allow you to fill out a form and they take care of everything for you.
So About the Website
Obviously we aren’t going to just talk about their business, but I want to give you some background. There is something special about this website. The unique design and simplicity makes it stunning. The all white background allows the text, colors, and images to really pop off the screen. On the before and after page, there is a “before and after” slider that allows you to scroll between before shots and after shots. The navigation of the site is at the very top, which is very unique in design.
Another great feature of this is the user experience. The website doesn’t have any excessive call to actions, spam, or pop ups. It sort of draws users in with a minimalist design that is so simple even a toddler could use it. On the navigation, one of the first options is for testimonials, which is another unique feature when it comes to user experience. On the design processes page, they feature custom graphics explaining their process and how it works. This is another great feature, but again, they do not go over the top with this.
Simplicity is Key
Simplicity is key in today’s world. Users don’t want to be overwhelmed with pop ups, in your face CTA’s, or any craziness. This website is brilliant from a user experience standpoint. You can be creative and not have to be over the top. You don’t have to follow what is in. You can go with your gut!
What Can We Learn From This?
You don’t need fancy hover effects, designs, custom graphics, or high resolution images to make a site look good. Sometimes it is good enough to keep it minimalist. This site is proof you don’t need any of those crazy things. They have some cool effects and creativity, but just enough to engage the user and no more. It is beautiful and artistically subtle. The guys who designed this have a unique style before. They clearly follow a methodology similar to that of Apple where less is more. We are always looking for designs that are unique and provide something different. We are looking for designs that challenge the status quo, and this does that with both design, user experience, and conversion optimization.
I want to give a shout out to Web Chimpy in Atlanta, GA and thank you for submitting this to our showcase. If you get a chance to check out these guys’ work, definitely take a look. They have some high quality stuff.
